British actor and comedian, Russell Brand, has made a big splash in the Hollywood scene with his hilarious role in the comedy, ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’. Russell’s character was a promiscuous rock star who had problems with monogamy and a lack of religious understanding/direction.

It seems as though Russell is struggling with his spirituality in real life as well, and has expressed his interest in Hinduism. Russell is known for constantly using the phrase, “Hare Krishna,” and boast that he is into yoga, meditation and is a vegetarian.

Russell seems to only have the ability of playing on type of character, and that fact is most obvious when looking at his next role in Hollywood’s ‘Get Him to the Greek’. His character is not only similar to the one he played in ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’, but instead the character is the  exact same character in an entirely different movie!

Obviously Russell’s “rock star” persona will make any religious organization nervous, and it is understandable that members of the Hindu community believe that Russell’s interest are impure. However, representatives of the Hindu religion have explained that as long as the actor is truly serious about joining then he will absolutely be accepted.

Though his obnoxious nature has put many fans on the fence about how much they like him, Russell will surely turn heads if he successful completes a transformation to the Hindu culture.
