Rahul Mahajan's Swayamvar comes to an Epic End!

Politician and reality star Rahul Mahajan’s epic journey came to an end with a surprise that took everyone by shock. Rahul finally chose his lucky bride to be, the beautiful Bengali model Dimpy Ganguly.

Now that wasn’t the big surprise. What shocked everyone is that Rahul and Dimpy proved that the reality show wasn’t just for entertainment purposes, they actually fell in love and ended the show with a ‘Shubh Vivah‘!!!

Rahul age 34 married Dimpy age 21 on the show as India watched on. Oh yes and India did watch on, as many Indians were skeptical that the show much like Rakhi’s Swayamvar would end in dismay. Rahul & Dimpy are now looking forward to spending their honeymoon in Maldives once Rahul’s drug abuse case finally reaches its verdict. Here’s hoping this is one reality show wedding comes to a happy end.

Who the hell is Rahul Mahajan and why are so many pretty (and I use that term loosely) women so eager to marry him?!

He’s the son of Pramod Mahajan, who was a prominent Indian politician. He was one of the most powerful second generation leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and, at the time of his death, was locked in a power struggle over who would take over the reins of the BJP when the current aging leadership retires.

Phew! That was a mouthful! Now it’s time for some juicy details!

In July 2006, Mahajan got engaged to Shweta Singh-Mahajan, who he had known for 13 years. They were in flying school together in the US, and also flew for the Indian airline Jet Airways. This engagement is a little controversial in its timing, with people wondering why it was so sudden. The wedding took place on August 29 at ‘Blue Sea’, a marriage hall at Worli sea face in Central Mumbai near the Mahajan residence.

The marriage was reportedly on rocks for sometime with serious allegation of beating that Rahul meted out to his new wife. Shweta Mahajan filed for divorce on 13 December 2007. Shweta has filed for divorce on grounds of incompatibility and mutual consent of both parties. On 1 August 2008, Rahul Mahajan and his wife Shweta were granted a divorce by a Gurgaon court. District and session Judge Ramendra Jain granted their divorce after both parties mutually agreed on the move. Rahul Mahajan also appeared in the reality show Big Boss-2 where he unsuccessfully tried to woo another inmate Payal Rohatgi only to be ignored after a while. Mahajan also served as the judge on Colors‘s Chhote Miyan, a children’s stand-up comedy reality show.

Now here comes the interesting part! After a marriage that ended before it was able to be enjoyed and an epic fail on national TV of trying to woo a female contestant, Mahajan is now, get this…the main guy on the reality show sequel of Rakhi Ka Swayamwar. This show is a swayamvar for Rahul Mahajan, where 16 girls are participating as his would-be bride. This show airs on NDTV Imagine channel.

Seriously ladies…take a look at this guy! And take a look at his history…obviously there’s something wrong with him, otherwise don’t you think his first wife would’ve stayed with him?! Not too sure how this show is going to even continue going…the ladies on there fighting for his love and affection are characters themselves (and I mean that in a very sarcastic way). If you were a guy, you wouldn’t want them wooing you.
