Most people would see the success of Hollywood and consider it a good thing that a Bollywood actress would let the American film industry rub off on them. However, it is all the bad characteristics of Hollywood that seems to be affecting Mallika Sherawat.

Mallika who is set to star in Indra Kumar’s ‘Dhamaal 2’, has just left Los Angeles today to head back to Mumbai and her responsibilities. Unfortunately, the responsibilities part does not seem to be too high on the actress’ list of things to do. The muhurat of the film is scheduled for today, but seems to be set back due to Mallika’s refusal to attend.

Excuses as to why Mallika is not attending are flying all around. Mallika’s spokesperson claims that it is due to date changes and her busy schedule that she could not make it, but wasn’t she just in California rubbing elbows with Hollywood stars like Sharon Stone? Doesn’t seem like something all that important being that Mallika herself denied today that she would be doing a movie with Sharon.

Others claim that Mallika is trying to stay away from the media in Mumbai, but maybe she should have thought about that before becoming an actress!!! It seems that Mallika is becoming a “diva” with all the negative connotations of the word. And unfortunately for her, the actress is not that proven yet in her films. However, she does look good!

It was just about 2 weeks ago that Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif had announced that they were no longer and item, and then a few days ago the duo admitted it was all a hoax when the lies seemed to be too much for Katrina to handle. Now it seems that the couple are out to prove their devotion to each other on the big screen as they will be featured in an item song together for Farah Khan’s flick, ‘Tees Maar Khan’.

Neither Salman nor Katrina are the actually stars of the movie, but that does not seem to matter to Farah as she approached Salman for the number. Sources claim that Salman took no time before responding positively towards the offer and the chance to show how much he loves Katrina to the world.

The song will involve the actual star of the film, Akshay Kumar, but only briefly as he will make way for the couple to strut their stuff. In most cases, people believe that working with your significant other can be seen as a mistake. However,in Bollywood just the opposite is true, as many star couples team up with one another to carry their off-screen chemistry on-screen.

 What confuses me is the tears that were shed by Katrina last week after being asked about her and Salman’s break-up. If the actress knew that the two were just trying to throw off the media, then why could she not hide her emotions during that press conference? Isn’t it her job to be able to act? One would think hiding a relationship should be extremely easy for an actress of her caliber!

Gauri Khan is the loving and dedicated wife to one of Bollywood’s biggest icons, Shahrukh Khan. Due to her obviously close ties with the business, and the fact that she recently appeared in a commercial ad led to speculation that Gauri may someday get involved in the Bollywood scene.

However, in a recent interview Mrs. Khan was quick to squash any rumors about her in the movie industry. “I did the ad because I felt like it. But Bollywood? I am too old for it. I would’ve considered Bollywood if I had been a little younger. At this age, it’s completely ruled out. Being in front of the camera is a lot of hard work, and I’m not cut-out for it. I was so tired doing the commercial that I slept for two days after that,” she explained.

I’m sure Shahrukh would disagree with the idea that his wife is too old for the business, but she seems to be ok with letting her husband have the glory of the spotlight. She also insists that being the wife of a superstar is no different than being a wife of anyone else.

“Don’t ask me how it feels to be a superstar’s wife. It doesn’t feel anything different. I can’t keep on praising him all the time. That would be so boring,” Gauri said.

Either way it seems like SRK’s wife is extremely down to earth and level-headed. It seems like the old saying stands true…behind every great man is a better woman!

Bollywood’s most powerful and popular couple proves that they are still in extremely high demand. Apparently Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai are unable to attend a screening of their own film at the Venice film festival due to some prior obligations.

The festival will be featuring a screening of the duo’s latest film together, ‘Raavan’, however the two will not be in attendance because they will be working on separate brand endorsements that very same day.

Though a source close to the couple claims that they will be available to other festivals that will be showing the film, it is hard to count on the fact that they can both find time in their schedules to make the screenings together.

Maybe the two are just a little embarrassed by the poor reviews that the movie received in their own country, and don’t want to suffer the same redicule elsewhere!

Apparently being every one’s eye candy is less satisfying than most people may think. According to reports, Bollywoood actress Bipasha Basu is no longer interested in playing the glamour-girl roles. Instead, the actress would like to focus on roles that she considers “real”.

Bipasha will be playing such a role in her upcoming flick ‘Aakrosh’, which issue-based film focusing on honour killings. “For me, the interesting part of doing `Aakrosh` was to see how far I can get away from my glamorous image. I discovered it was easy for me to do real characters,” explained the actress.

Not only does Bipasha want the less glamorous roles, but she also seems to think that stars should be doing issue-based films for free in order to make them more “commercially viable”.

“When a mainstream actor does a film on a social cause, it should be done free of cost as a sign of commitment to society,” she claims. Although the idea seems noble in theory, I really think this call to stars to work for free will fall of deaf ears.

I guess we’ll see if Bipasha can lead by example with her upcoming film, but if she doesn’t work for free on the film it will definitely effect her credibility!

Kareena Kapoor has a very close relationship with her present lover Saif Ali Khan, but it seems like there may be another man that Kareena is hoping to link up with aside from her significant other.

Of course the link-up will be in a professional sense, but the actress has a huge desire to work with producer/director/actor Aamir Khan once again!

The two had extremely good chemistry in their latest pairing in the flick ’3 Idiots’, and Kareena is not shy to announce that she would like to rekindle that magic in more films, but realizes that it may be a while before than can become possible.

“I want to work with Aamir, but he is not doing any film for a year,”Kareena said. It may just be the success of ’3 Idiots’ that Kareena is after, because the actress is also trying the get Saif to work with  director Rajkumar Hirani, claiming she always tell Saif that he should seek out Rajkumar’s guidance.

It seems that the actress is aware of a working formula and has every intention of copying it.

Mallika Sherawat is still doing all that she can to make a name for herself in the film industry. She has done plenty of work in Bollywood, but as the actress shows on her Twitter account; her true desire seems to rest in Hollywood.

It was not too long ago that the actress had posted a picture on the social networking site with big time actress Salma Hayek, and then the actress proceeded to announce that the two of them were close friends. Unfortunately for Mallika, when Salma was asked about Mallika, the Hollywood actress hardly remembered meeting Mallika.

However, it seems that Mallika has finally made a real friendship in Hollywood and that is with the gorgeous and talented Sharon Stone! Sources say that the two recently met at a promotional function, and became extremely close with one another sharing stories of work and play.

Also if the reports are to be believed, the two may be working with each other shortly, which means that Mallika maybe getting her wish of breaking into the Hollywood scene. I guess only time will tell!

Bollywood always seems to have its fair share of fights and disagreements, and when it comes the bigger names in the business those quarrels always get highlighted. It now seems that old friends Shahrukh Khan and Arjun Rampal have the latest spotlighted argument.

SRK is all set to star in the upcoming sequel, ‘Don 2′, which was made by Farhan Akhtar, and Arjun was approached to be one of the supporting actors for the film. However after originally agreeing to terms and a role in the movie, reports state that Arjun has raised his price.

This increase in payment demand left Farhan with no choice but to drop the actor from the cast, and has also left a bitter taste in the mouth of SRK. Apparently the two are not going to be buddies much longer, as Shahrukh decribed the actions of Arjun as “unprofessional”, and made his displeasure seemingly obvious.

Maybe the raise in price was a reaction to the way King Khan had burst in on Arjun’s press conference with Kareena Kapoor for their latest flick, ‘We Are Family’. Being the two leading actors, Arjun and Kareena were set to promote the movie at the conference when Shahrukh busted in stealing the spotlight and claiming to be the films “good luck charm”.

It seems that Arjun may be looking for more money in compensation for a loss of exposure due to his larger than life colleague. One thing is for sure, this new spat can be described as nothing more than a serious clash of egos!

Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan appears to be a little rattled, while the latest post on the actors blog explains that he has been attacked by a certain person who frequently comments on the actor’s personal blog.

Amitabh, better known as Big B, keeps a personal online journal (so to speak) on which he has unleashed some of his most intimate thoughts, and also sparked many of his most famous attacks on other actors and their films.

However, it seems that Big B has been getting an uncensored taste of his own medicine, and he has definetly taken it personal! “There is a serious effort by a member that writes and comments on this blog to use language and expression that is abusive, filthy and utterly disgusting,” says Big B referring to the unruley blogger.

Although most of the Bollywood superstars seem to be untouchable, it seems that this particular nobody has found a way to affect one of the biggest names in Bollywood. “I have brought this to the notice of the authorities and (sought) corrective measures to see none of the stuff that comes from this foul mouthed individual shall ever be allowed on this platform. Any further attempt from this person shall now be under legal cyber space action,” Big B explains.

Though part of me wants to say that Big B is just getting what he deserves; the use offensive language and ugly attacks on personal situations seems classless. In this sense I support Big B in his attempt to rid the Web of this filth, but hopefully he’ll remember the feeling the next time he decides to express his thoughts on other people’s work.

Are they or are they not? Seems to be the huge question surrounding one of Bollywood’s sexiest couples. Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan have seemed to add a new meaning an on and off relationship.

A couple weeks ago Salman was at a press conference for his newest film, ‘Dabangg’, and the actor had claimed that he is indeed single. Shortly after that, Katrina was seen in tears over a press conference that turned in to an interrogation about the two’s relationship where she told the media that if Salman says they are over then it must be true.

However, now reports are stating that Salman has gone back on what he said, and was only trying to keep the two’s relationship out of the media. Not sure how he thought that plan would work, but the actor did admit, “I told Katrina to say that she is single,” while confirming that the two are still together!!!

If these two were not so darn good looking, I don’t think anyone would really care anymore about this circus of a relationship. Yet, it seems that their story is long from over and we will be hearing much more about the duo.

When asked about the situation Katrina seemed to be unsure about where her commitment stands with her counterpart. “If you commit to something, you must stand by. But if you commit to something and the situation changes, then perhaps the commitment also changes,” explains Katrina. Ummmm OK?

Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor has made a huge name for herself before the youthful age of 29. The actress has been in many blockbuster films, and many believe that he latest, ‘We Are Family’, is no exception to that. The actress comes from a well known acting family in Bollywood, and she is extremely confident in her acting ability.

“I enjoy acting. Acting is in my blood, it is in my genes, it is in my DNA and you can see that on screen I like doing different roles. I can`t do just those films where I am looking pretty and sing and dance around trees. I want to act,” claims Kareena.

Kareena states that her main goal is to keep a certain variety to her films, and does not want to be seen as just a pretty girl who can sing and dance. Acting is the first and most important talnet that she would like to get across in all of her films.

There are films like `Refugee`, `Chameli`, `Omkara`, `Jab We Met`, `3 Idiots` and `Kurbaan`; they all have been very different. I don`t think any other actress has been able to do such a variety of roles. So the journey, I think, has been colourful,” Kareena said.

It is refreshing to know that Kareena is not looking for a free pass in the industry just because of who her family is or how good she looks. And as the previous list of movies shows; Kareena certainly can act!

It is never easy to say that Bollywood superstar, Shahrukh Khan, has overstepped his bounds, but he certainly has come close to doing just that in a press conference for Karan Johar’s latest flick ‘We Are Family’.

‘We Are Family,‘ stars Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal were taking part in a press conference for the movie when Shahrukh Khan made a surprise enterance and joined the two as a self described “good luck charm”. It is understandable that SRK has a bit of an ego, but to crash a conference for a movie that he had no part in seems to be a bit much.

I’m sure Karan appreciates any promotional help that he can get from the superstar in order to further the success of his movie, but I doubt Kareena and Arjun were extremely happy about sharing their spotlight with him.

It seems that SRK’s head has become a little too big. After being overlooked by close friend Farah Khan in her latest film, and not not finding room for himself in Karan’s film; it seems like Shahrukh may be getting scared that his time to fade into the background is coming faster than expected.
