Shahrukh Chooses Nothing but Mediocre Films

Now to say this to the King of Bollywood you’d better think twice, but this lady definitely didn’t. I know i know, the millions of Shah Rukh Fans out there like myself are wanting to hear that name and officially blacklist the culprit, but you’d be surprised at her identity.

The award winning editor Deepa Bhatia whose most recent work includes SRK’s very own ‘My Name is Khan‘ questioned the actors decision to always act in mediocre films. Deepa, whose work has been recognized and appreciated for films like ‘Taare Zameen Par’ and ‘Rock On‘ admits that she isn’t a Shah Rukh Fan and doesn’t understand the Badshah’s decision to pick nothing but average films.

Umm HELLO have you seen ‘Devdas‘, ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham‘, ‘Veer Zaara’, ‘Kal Ho Na Ho‘ and who can forget the legendary ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge‘ which is still the longest running film in theatres to date.  And did you realize every year almost every award show Shahrukh Khan is not only nominated but also walks away with the Best Actor award! Well Deepa, say what you’d like but I’m sure your little peeps won’t affect the status of the King Khan, nor our undying love for his films. (Oh yes and how can I forget our never ending obsession with “Raj” and “Rahul”) Now that’s anything but average!

Poor guy looks like hes been burnt by producing a slew of flops in recent years and has left him hurting. Film making is a risky business, and Subhash Ghai would know best, as either his movies are super hits or super flops.

It looks like he plans to setup a new trend in Bollywood so the checks stop bouncing and the people get paid, between all the strikes and the over compensated salaries of the stars…

Lets see what the stars have to say about this… Anyways it seems like Mr. Ghai has been burnt so bad that he has given up producing films that are not his directorial ventures either.

Ash Isn't a Superstar

So whose this gal making such a huge statement? Well we haven’t heard much about her before but I’m sure we will be hearing and seeing a lot more of her very soon. Aishwarya’s sister in law Shrima Rai is hoping to hit the limelight very soon. The full time banker and former Mrs India has started reading movie scripts and is furthering her modeling career, but for now her only claim to fame is her star studded in-laws Abhishek & Aishwarya Bachan.

Ash she says isn’t a superstar for her, shes first and foremost her sister in law and Shrima doesn’t believe in the dropping a name game to push her way into the entertainment industry. In fact she says that Aishwarya and her haven’t even spoken about her potential work and nor will she ask Ash to help her fetch future projects. So what do you guys think? Will we be seeing yet another “Rai” claim her fame on the big screen?? Well not everyone can claim the “Most Beautiful Women in the World” title and brisk their way to stardom…we’re sure Shrima is definitely going to have her work cut out for her.

Complete Frontal Nude Scene in Love Sex Aur Dhoka

The controversial scene in question was shot with Indian actors with an approximate of 4 people in the room while the cameras were rolling.

Reveals a source, “The script required the scene to be shot with full frontal. It took a lot of courage for both the actors to do it. LSD does not aim to shock audiences but does aim at mirroring reality”.

It is this reality factor which is said to be the USP of LSD, a co-production of Ekta Kapoor/Shobha Kapoor and Priya Sreedharan (who was incidentally also the Executive Producer of Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!). A digital film with (clichéd as it may sound) a hidden camera playing a character by itself, LSD features a bunch of newcomers with no mainstream trappings to it. Also, sex and voyeurism form a major driving force of the narrative of this film which is now ready and marching towards 19th March release.

Balaji Motion Pictures and Dibaker Banerjee’s Love Sex aur Dhokha talks about how voyeurism is indeed a reality in today’s society. “The content and scenes in the film will be slightly difficult for audiences to digest but once they know the thought behind it, they will realize it’s the cold hard truth. After all somebody needs to inform audiences and question the decisions they take in day to day life”, adds the source.

But who are these actors, is the million dollar question? Why have their identities been kept under the wraps? Yes, the provocative nature and content of the film has already got mouths talking but if there is one thing the team is tight lipped about, it’s the actors and the story of their discovery.

Reveals a source from Balaji, “Ekta and Dibaker went on a nation wide hunt for these actors after the script was in place. Since the film mirrors reality, having known faces would not have done justice to the story.” This is the reason why the makers have adopted a marketing strategy of not going out with the LSD’s actors’ identities since it would only increase the audience’s curiosity.

Adds the source, “LSD has been in the news for its offensive lyrics, controversial subject, cuss words used in the film and never seen before nude scenes. Not revealing the actors starring in the film will only further pique audience curiosity about the film.”

On March 12th in New Delhi the prestigious Golden Kela Awards took place that announced quite a few not so surprising winners. Actor Harman Baweja won worst actor for his role in the Bollywood film ‘What’s your Raashee’, while Kareena Kapoor snagged the award for Worst Actress for her performance ‘Kambakkht Ishq‘.

The Golden Kela Awards, which started a year ago are spin offs of Hollywood’s Razzies awards take place soon after the Filmfares. Additional ‘Golden Kela’s‘ were given too Deepika Padukone for worse supporting actor in ‘Chandni Chowk to China”. While the Worst Film went to ‘Kambakkht Ishq’ & Ashutosh Gowariker was declared Worst Director for ‘What’s Your Raashee?’.

In the special award winners category were director Kabir Khan and producer Aditya Chopra who were the recipients of a ‘Lajja’ (Shame) Award for the Worst Treatment of a Serious Issue for the film ‘New York’ and Abhishek Bachchan won the Dara Singh Award for Worst Accent in ‘Delhi-6′. Unfortunate for Rani Mukerji as she won not one but two Kela awards for ‘Most Original Copied Story’ you guessed it ‘Dil Bole Haddipa‘ and worse pair for yet again ‘Dil Bole Haddipa‘ across Shahid Kapoor. Well duh! Rani looks like she could be Shahid’s mother!! Well regardless of the fact that none of the celebs mentioned actually showed up to recieve their award, the ‘Golden Kela’ will contine to say what’s on everyone’s mind but their too scared to say it.

Word on the streets of Mumbai is Neil Nitin Mukesh and Priyanka Bhatia have officially ended their relationship. The split comes as a surprise, as the actor and Priyanka, who had been seeing each other for a couple of years now, always seemed quite close and committed to each other. Only they and their close friends will know what really went down. Infidelities? Cheating? Who knows…

So what went wrong? Neil isn’t going into details, but apparently the actor’s life and designer Priyanka’s life weren’t a perfect match. And that’s what led to the couple deciding to go their separate ways, one aspiring to be fashion and the other in film. I thought those two are very closely matched. Fashion has lots of tie ins to film.

But it seems that there was no anger or bitterness involved in the split, and that Neil and Priyanka continue to be friends and that has to be interesting. Maybe he is a nice guy… Ladies line up and grab a ticket!

Congratulations to Karisma Kapoor and the Kapoor family. The ex-actress gave birth to a healthy baby boy this morning! In about 20 years, I’m sure this boy will give us a lot to gossip about and be the next Bollywood heartthrob.

Priyanka Chopra Can't Afford to Buy Something??!!

So you all must be really shocked just reading the headline, Priyanka Chopra not able to afford something. I mean is it really possible?? Its like saying Shah Rukh Khan was spotted bargaining the price of a chupel (slipper).  But yes, reality can smack anyone in the face time to time and there is one prized possession that many of Bollywood’s A-list celebs are starting to acquire like a fashion statement….you guessed it, an IPL Team.

From the King Khan, to Preity Zinta, Shilpa Shetty, and now add on Kareena and Saif, and Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt…the list goes on and on. But looks like the gorgeous Priyanka Chopra will not be adding her name to this prestigious list anytime soon.

The superstar who was out promoting the DLF IPL screenings at movie theatres across India blatantly admitted that she ” Can’t Afford an IPL Team!” Yes she did laugh while making the statement (and I’m sure many of us at home are laughing too), but yes Priyanka Chopra actually can’t afford everything. Surprising we must say, considering shes charging double digit crores for every film shes doing, and not to mention the countless brands and ads shes graces with her pretty little face. Well only time will tell how long we’ll have to wait to see Priyanka cheering on her team in the stands…we think, not very long at all.

Ok so maybe it isn’t really 200,000 stalkers, but Priyanka Chopra does have that many people now following her on Twitter. Usually I would be so opposed to anyone having this many people hanging on their every tweet, but it’s Priyanka! 

She can act, stays current, keeps it real with her fans, and let’s not forget to mention she’s awfully nice just to stare at.  Honestly, what guy wouldn’t want to follow her on twitter? I know I do!
